Agenda: General introductions of members and what brought them to Slow Food. Sheryl will invite Rio Thomas of Small Potatoes Gleaning Project to discuss their connection to Slow Food. She will invite Peter Willing to report on the County Council meeting relating to use

of farm land and the regulation of sprawl in Whatcom County. The executive committee will present its brainstorming ideas for member events and fundraising events to include nonmembers.

Fundraising events will be held quarterly: autumn - Harvest Dinner (Jessica and Mataio Gillis, chairpersons); winter - European wine and cheese tasting, venue to be decided (Mary Ellen

Carter, chairperson); summer - ice cream social featuring Mallard's ice cream, venue to be decided (Sheryl Davis, chairperson); spring - visit to Bow/Edison cheese maker and goat farm with a

tasting to follow coordinated by Slough Food (Max Morange, chairperson). Other possibilities include a mid-summer micro-brew fest by Nick Hartrich. Jessica will contact Nick. Ideas for member activities include a honey tasting, tuna canning, salmon bake, booth at Wednesday Farmer's Market in Fairhaven June through September with demonstrations (Glenn

Denkler will present the idea at the Feb. 25th meeting; Mary Ellen Carter will contact Robyn Crowder for details). Sign up sheets will be available at the meeting for members to volunteer to help with the four quarterly events as well as to sponsor a Slow Food meeting/potluck in their home. Respectfully submitted, Sheryl Davis
