  Fourth Corner Slow Food Convivium

      Pacific Northwest Convivia

Executive Committee Meeting, March 29, 2005

Present: Max Morange, Mary Ellen Carter, Jessica Gillis, Mataio Gillis, Glenn Denkler, Sheryl Davis, Terry Carter

Treasurer's Report: Expenditure of $40.95 for office supplies and postcard mailing leaves $2,485.56. Max, Mary Ellen and Jessica plan a visit to the bank to make sure the

appropriate names are on the account for writing checks. A $200.00 budget for print publicity for the Harvest Dinner was approved and an account at Applied Digital Imaging will be

set up by Jessica. Jan Willing will have flyers ready for the first farmers' market. Jessica turned in Fourth Corner Slow Food's financial report for 2004 to SlowFoodUSA.

Administrative: Sheryl has three lists of members, not all of which “match.” She will justify the lists and correct the mailing labels. Membership dues were discussed. For our

convivium to thrive, the Executive Committee believes all members should be current, paid members of Slow Food USA. However, a local membership (Friends of Slow Food) will be

offered to people who find national membership a hardship. Mary Ellen will development a receipt, application form and membership card for Friends of Slow Food. Dues will b e

$25.00 individual; $35.00, couple.

Upcoming Events:

The April lst potluck is cancelled. A full membership potluck will be planned by Jan Willing, TBA. Max reported that a “Yeast Feast” (beer tasting) is being planned for August by Nick Hartrich, Dave Morales, Brennan Schummacher, Scott Pelton and Max. Details are not firm but

they are hoping to have fifteen breweries donate one or two kegs, capping tickets at 250 to 350 people. Slow Food's participation is still being discussed. The Harvest Dinner committee met March 7th. Slow Food will administer the wine bar as we did last year. Farm Friends will admininster the basket raffle. Jessica suggested an

auction of the original artwork submitted for the 2006 poster. The poster is chosen by the participants at the Harvest Dinner. The winning artist receives a Community Supported

Agriculture subscription for one year. Sheryl will work with Allied Arts to put the call for artists to submit entries for the 2006 poster in the newsletter. Size chosen is 8 _ x 11 inches.

Event committees: Max will set up a webpage for each upcoming event in order to share information. Harvest Dinner committee members are as follow: Jessica and Mataio Gillis,

Jeremy Brown, Glenn Denkler, and Jeff Bode. Cheese Making field trip committee members are as follow: Max Morange, Jeff Bode, Sarah and John, Craig and J.P. MacConnell,

Anne Mosness, and Mary Ellen Carter. The Ice Cream event has no committee members. Mary Ellen Carter will plan the Wine and Cheese Event for November.

Mary Ellen is writing and submitting to the Coop Newsletter an article about Fourth Corner Slow Food. Max will call Slow Food USA for details of our insurance coverage. The next Executive Committee Meeting, open to all interested members, will be May 17th at 6:00 PM, location TBA. Submitted by Sheryl Davis, Secretary
