Executive
Committee Meeting, March 29, 2005
Present: Max Morange, Mary Ellen Carter,
Jessica Gillis, Mataio Gillis, Glenn Denkler,
Sheryl Davis, Terry Carter
Treasurer's Report: Expenditure of $40.95
for office supplies and postcard mailing
leaves $2,485.56. Max, Mary Ellen and Jessica
plan a visit to the bank to make sure the
appropriate names are on the account for
writing checks. A $200.00 budget for print
publicity for the Harvest Dinner was approved
and an account at Applied Digital Imaging will
be
set up by Jessica. Jan Willing will have
flyers ready for the first farmers' market.
Jessica turned in Fourth Corner Slow Food's
financial report for 2004 to SlowFoodUSA.
Administrative: Sheryl has three lists of
members, not all of which “match.” She will
justify the lists and correct the mailing
labels. Membership dues were discussed. For
our
convivium to thrive, the Executive
Committee believes all members should be
current, paid members of Slow Food USA.
However, a local membership (Friends of Slow
Food) will be
offered to people who find national
membership a hardship. Mary Ellen will
development a receipt, application form and
membership card for Friends of Slow Food. Dues
will b e
$25.00 individual; $35.00, couple.
Upcoming Events:
The April lst potluck is cancelled. A full
membership potluck will be planned by Jan
Willing, TBA. Max reported that a “Yeast
Feast” (beer tasting) is being planned for
August by Nick Hartrich, Dave Morales, Brennan
Schummacher, Scott Pelton and Max. Details are
not firm but
they are hoping to have fifteen breweries
donate one or two kegs, capping tickets at 250
to 350 people. Slow Food's participation is
still being discussed. The Harvest Dinner
committee met March 7th. Slow Food will
administer the wine bar as we did last year.
Farm Friends will admininster the basket
raffle. Jessica suggested an
auction of the original artwork submitted
for the 2006 poster. The poster is chosen by
the participants at the Harvest Dinner. The
winning artist receives a Community Supported
Agriculture subscription for one year.
Sheryl will work with Allied Arts to put the
call for artists to submit entries for the
2006 poster in the newsletter. Size chosen is
8 _ x 11 inches.
Event committees: Max will set up a webpage
for each upcoming event in order to share
information. Harvest Dinner committee members
are as follow: Jessica and Mataio Gillis,
Jeremy Brown, Glenn Denkler, and Jeff Bode.
Cheese Making field trip committee members are
as follow: Max Morange, Jeff Bode, Sarah and
John, Craig and J.P. MacConnell,
Anne Mosness, and Mary Ellen Carter. The
Ice Cream event has no committee members. Mary
Ellen Carter will plan the Wine and Cheese
Event for November.
Mary Ellen is writing and submitting to the
Coop Newsletter an article about Fourth Corner
Slow Food. Max will call Slow Food USA for
details of our insurance coverage. The next
Executive Committee Meeting, open to all
interested members, will be May 17th at 6:00
