Mary Ellen Carter wrote and published a
wonderful Slow Food article in the Co-op
Newsletter. She has developed a “Friend of
Slow Food”
membership brochure to be inserted in the
official Slow Food application.
Mary Ellen is coordinating a “Sunday at the
Farm” harvesting and cooking fest at Cloud
Mountain Farm (Cheryl and Tom Thornton) for
August 7,
2005. She needs volunteers to assist in
organizing.
The Yeast Feast (beer tasting) has been
cancelled due to lack of funding. The Ice
Cream Social is on hold. The Farm and Cheese
Tour for May 22nd is full. We will meet at
Rhonda Gothberg's farm at 3:30 pm for a tour
followed by a cheese tasting at
Slough Food in Edison. Participants will
receive details via email from Max. Fairhaven
Farmers' Market demonstrations and Slow Food
membership booth details will be researched by
Max through Mary Ellen and/or Robin
Crowder. The June booth will be managed by
Mary Ellen and Jeff Bode. In July, Glenn
Denkler will do a food demo (where does he get
equipment, etc?) August is undetermined.
Max will coordinate future membership
potlucks. The April 27th potluck at the
Willing's was a success.
